1957

Anton Humbaur founds a factory agency for agricultural machinery in Donauwörth. The product scope includes trailers, ploughs and grain mills.

1978 - 1982

1978 The sales of agricultural machinery declines. Anton Humbaur decides to include new products in the sales program.

The company moved to Gersthofen into the newly built warehouse with office building in 1980. The first car trailers are sold in the following year. Humbaur imports them from Italy and adapts them to the German market.

In 1982 Ulrich Humbaur, today´s managing partner, enters the company.

1984 - 1989

In 1984 the company starts the production of car trailers.

Since 1985 it has been operating under the name Humbaur GmbH.

In 1989, Humbar began to gradually expand the production of trailers for private and commercial use.

1995-2001

1995 Further investment in buildings from 1985 to 1995

1998 Start of the production of horse trailers.

2001 New construction and relocation to the administration and production buildings (22,000 m2) at the Mercedesring in Gersthofen.

2002 - 2007

2002 Introduction of the Humbaur heavy duty program. Start of the production of construction trailers and flatbed trailers.

2003 Opening of the factory sale in the trailer centre in Gersthofen.

2005 New construction of a second production hall in Gersthofen- state-of-the-art production technology on over 23,000 m2.

2006 Extension of the heavy-duty programme to include the 30-ton-flatbed turntable trailers.

2007 Development of a European service network. Takeover of the polyester supplier NCK and restructuring of the firm into Polynova GmbH & Co. KG in Niedercunnersdorf.

2009

Ulrich Humbaur acquires the semi-trailer manufacturer Kögel and now, with both companies, covers the needs of the entire trailer market. The brands are kept separate.

2013 Presentation of the new Humbaur-Horsetrailer generation.

2016 Launch of the "FlexBox" vehicle bodies for dry, refrigerated and frozen cargo with the dry, cool and freeze series.

2017 Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015 as well as KBA-ZM-A

2018 Introduction of the new box trailer models with sandwich panels from our own production.

2019 The revolution in the horse-trailer-market: The launch of the patented transport-safety-system EquiGuard®.

2022 Production of the 1,111,111th Humbaur trailer

2022 Introduction of the Humbaur FlexTip three-way tipper body

2023 Introduction of the Pegasus Style horse trailer with all-poly body for maximum colour variety

2024 Launch of the multifunctional MODO box trailer in co-operation with leisure vehicle manufacturer LMC Caravan GmbH & Co. KG and thus entry into the camping market segment
